JDRF Australia chief executive Mike Wilson said type 1 diabetes was a serious disease but thanks diabetes educators like Diane Roberts winner of the Impact and Relationships award from Canberra Hospital, Gael Holters winner of the excellence and innovation award from Bankstown - Lidcombe Hospital, and Michelle Kuerschner winner of the People's choice award, people could live full and active lives.
